Where are we?
Not sleeping. Eating poorly. Staying too busy with work, life, the kids, cleaning the house, picking up dog poop, etc. I have several things to post about but, in all honesty, I'm waiting for Judybat to come back to the blogosphere. This has turned into shesaid.org and, really, I'm not that interesting.
So hang tight. I'll get the little lady back here shortly. Meanwhile, topics to discuss:
- Why do I like the Tony Blair of "The Queen" so much more than the real version? What happened to that guy?
- Three more seasons of "Lost:" Good thing or bad thing?
- Melinda, Blake or Jordin? (And is it true that Jordin is a right-wing nutjob who has performed at anti-abortion rallies?)
- Barack, Johnny or Hillary? (Bill Richardson is not an option on this one. Sorry.)
- Bigger new skill for TheGirl: Sitting up or eating solids?
- Better band from adolescence: Huey Lewis and the News or Tears for Fears?
My answers:
- George Bush and his Texas charm offensive.
- More "Lost" is always good, even when it's bad.
- Melinda. But she won't win.
- I haven't figured out which one I think can actually win.
- Solid foods, baby. Every step away from 4 a.m. feedings is one in the right direction.
- Like there's any question.

What I want to know is: why is everyone so obsessed about Johnny's hair? Am I just tonsorially illiterate? I am sure I wouldn't recognize a $300 haircut if it bit me on the ass.
I'll bite on the cheesy question - Blake. Because Melinda's just a good singer - she doesn't DO anything. Blake is one-note and annoying, but at least he's trying. I approve of trying. Actually, though, I miss Sligh.

I think we're obsessed with Johnny's hair because it all goes to judgment: You're preaching an end to poverty, but you're spending $400 on a haircut.
Plus, he's so purty.
Only someone who preferred Blake over Melinda would think the obvious answer was Tears for Fears.
TFF. The rest I don't know about, sadly, since I have never seen most of what many people seem to enjoy. I don't know why, but I seem to enjoy programs about engineering marvels and crime. The husband always asks, "Is it ghosts, murderers or Bigfoot tonight?" I remind him he forgot to ask about the documentary on cannibalism that I am watching. Ew.
...and thus the temporary 8th grade rift.
That last one is easy. Tears for Fears is the better POP GROUP. The News is the better BAND. And yes, there is a difference.

- Melinda. I want to take lessons from her, but at a minimum I will buy her album (which I have never done for an AI contestant before)
- Barack. Swoon. Have you read his books? Man can WRITE.
- Sitting up while eating solids. She's practically ready for grad school!
- "Shout" was a seminal soundtrack for summer camp. I owned the cassette for Songs from the Blue Chair (or whatever the album was called.) Awesomeness. I don't know what TFF's stance on abortion rights was, though.
