The bottom line

The kid and I received our hospital bills in the mail today. Total cost for delivery, room and board, plenty of post-partum drugs and other services: $13,580.80. Total cost for the kid's time in the nursery, lab work and other nursing: $5,880.45.
All I can say is, thank goodness for health insurance.

Yeah, if there's one thing this thing has pointed out in my head, it's the unbelievable need for healthcare reform. Oy!
Can you imagine if you had no insurance?! Lord!
My room and board alone cost $3,300. Which, given the number of vanilla milkshakes I ordered at 3 a.m., seems like a relative bargain.
Vanilla?!?
The chocolate was just vanilla ice cream with Hershey's chocolate sauce. Vanilla was better. But it took a complicated and time-consuming taste test to figure that out.
Cost of getting a big-ass tree removed from the middle of the house: $4,300. You and little Ruth win.
Vanilla is the mack-daddy of all flavors, and your chocolate snobs need to back off.
Vanilla is SUBLIME and sophisticated. Chocolate is nice too. Comparing them is silly. They are apples and oranges. One must be very refined and discerning to appreciate fully the subtle wonder that is vanilla. That said, look at this:

It should read "the Hot Dominicana." Sounds like a reason for winter to come!
There's a reason it's called "vanilla" sex.
